As I type this, we're closing out the last day of the first month of the new year. The morning light is a clear blue, with a stripe of peach over the trees, and has a crisp, crackling look to it, like the ice on the ground. The grass and roofs are covered in snow, and my thermometer is registering -6 degrees outside.

Like most people, I have some new year's resolutions this year. Some are lofty, some realistic, some challenging. One of the commitments I've made to myself so far this year is to get this website up and running by February 1st.
My deadline of February 1st happens to be a full moon, which is one of the reasons I've planned this schedule as such. Full moons are the perfect time to bring new projects to completion. I fully intend on harnessing all the powers of the universe that I can for this project, in order to complete the task by the deadline. I liken this to trying to launch a boat at high tide vs. low tide; which another activity easily influenced by the moon.
While you could take a boat to the bay at low tide, it's not very practical. The water will be low, you may not have clearance for your motor, there may be too many sandbars to navigate, etc.
Waiting a short amount of time for the high tide to roll around makes the process a lot easier. It becomes simple to float the boat, push off from shore, and cruise where you'd like, always being mindful of the ever-changing water beneath you.
With that ebb and flow always present around us, I'm entering this new year with more intention than ever to work with the energies around us, planning ahead more thoughtfully, and executing more rhythmically. I understand there's a time and a place for everything in nature, including ourselves, our thoughts, and our habits.
